State Rep. Harry Lewis Jr. (R-Chester) supports Gov. Tom Wolf’s decision to allow the supplemental budget to become law. In total, the complete 2015-16 state budget will spend $30.031 billion without requiring any tax increases. Following the governor’s budget announcement, Lewis released the following statement:
“One of our most important responsibilities – educating the children of the Commonwealth – has been honored with this budget. It includes a record increase of $200 million for basic education as well as a 5 percent increase for community colleges and the State System of Higher Education. Our students can rest assured that they were treated as a top concern.
